Morris Minor, Austin A40 A35 A30 gearbox parts supply

We stock new and used parts for the in-line "A-series" gearbox, as fitted to the Morris Minor, Austin A30, A35, A40 etc. Many of the parts to rebuild these boxes are becoming increasingly difficult to source.

Whilst used gearboxes regularly appear for sale, they generally come from cars which are being scrapped, so it is difficult to test them properly under road conditions (synchromesh etc.). Even good boxes suffer from long-term storage as the oil tends to drain from the bearings, and in any event complete gearboxes are heavy, thus incurring expensive carriage charges, particularly making export unviable.

Particularly in the export situation, it is easier (and cheaper) to dispatch only the items necessary for your local transmission specialist to rebuild your existing box.

You will need to check the original BMC parts book for chassis no. breaks, and part no. supercessions to avoid receiving the wrong parts.
