MORRIS MINOR CONVERTIBLE - 1966
"MARIBELLE" - JYC 447D

First registered in 1966, the year that England won the world cup, this car passed through a succession of owners, until the autumn of 2006, at which time she had dissolved into a sad pile of bits following an abandoned restoration. We purchased her with a view to restoring an original convertible for use the wedding hire business.

Iain McKenzie of Fairmile Restorations restored her back to a rolling shell, and once painted in Olde English White, she was returned to us for fitting out in May 2007. We then completed the restoration using refurbished or reconditioned parts to minimise cost, and to retain some of the original patina.

In April 2008, Maribelle as she is now known, went into service and carried out her first wedding with Mirabelle at Crewe, Cheshire.

She is now regularly used as a sister car to Mirabelle, for transporting bridesmaids etc. at larger weddings, or as the main bridal car in her own right.

Honours achieved:
Invited to display on the "Morris Minor Owners' Club" stand at the 60th anniversary celebrations held at the Classic Car Show N.E.C. Birmingham November 2008.
